For heavy traffic events that are advertised well in advance, it's sometimes better to drive straight into the middle of the problematic zone. Everybody else is looking for a bypass.

Update: The newbies are restless...

Those lighthouses seem to be popping from nowhere. Here's one I discovered only a few months ago. It is located just next to the Reading Power Station - old, rusty, with its light removed. It's an ugly duckling, but it is part of Tel-Aviv's history. Must have been here since the British Mandate, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Take a peek.

A pretty cool idea for people who're into video games (I am not, but that might change :). These guys simply install all the popular games on their highly specified servers, and let you access them through a video-steaming interface. You don't have to install any kind of software at all, and get lightning-fast performance (or so they say). I still don't understand how this is legal, but I guess they did their homework. The demo is a bit lengthy, but it lets you get a feeling of their streaming speed. 1Mbps, that's all they say is needed. Pretty amazing.

Mysterious Japanese Card

This is a card I got today from someone named Danna, or Dianna maybe. The writing style is very informal, as if we've known each other for ages. However, no matter how hard I try, I can't figure out who this person is. Can this be a Postcrossing card without an ID? Hard to tell. Nice card though.

The citizens' committee for prevention of building a Haredi school in Kfar-Yona is thinking up creative ways of battling the Local Council. One of them was the erection of a "tent of protest" in the place where the school is about to be built. The Russian description of this act (sent out via e-mail) turned out a bit funny:
